JACKKNIFE is a psychological horror visual novel set in the highways of rural America. You play a lone hitchhiker trying to outrun your past when a charming truck driver named Jackie offers you a ride. But as snow begins to fall, you sense that your rescuer might be far more dangerous than you expected.

You play as a lonely hitchhiker. A woman, though who she is and what she’s running from are left to you. There are no pronoun options, and the story uses feminine terms like 'lady' when referring to you. Your appearance is never shown directly, but your style of dress is more feminine, like references to wearing skirts and make-up.
Content warning:
Jackknife contains depictions of blood, death, stalking, manipulation, and predation. This game explores mature subject matter intended for adult audiences. Minor sexual themes, but no explicit graphic sex is depicted.
Future Plans:
I’ve had this concept for a few years now, but I took the opportunity this year to practice branching paths in a visual novel in a way I haven’t before. I do have some future ideas for this game, but I wouldn’t call it a demo, as I don’t currently plan to finish it , it was more of a writing exercise. However, if there’s enough interest, I might continue it!

I enjoyed playing this so much!! I felt like the choices mattered, I liked finding all the dialogue from each choice combination. Even if it was sometimes a small difference it really added to the immersion for me. I have such a big crush on Jackie omg... The art is absolutely beautiful too, I can't get enough of it!! I'm so happy I found this demo, I would be delighted if it was ever expanded on but I'm happy it exists in the first place. Amazing job!!
